Award-winning artificial intelligence system enables SCADA operators to recognize threats in real time and respond before alarm conditions have been met

HOUSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–May 20, 2014–

Behavioral Recognition Systems, Inc. (BRS Labs), creator of AISight®, the artificial intelligence analytics solution that teaches itself to recognize and alert on unexpected patterns within massive volumes of sensor data, today announced the availability of AISight for SCADA, a powerful new dimension in SCADA operations management.

AISight for SCADA helps control room operators recognize abnormal, unusual or unexpected conditions in energy production and other SCADA-enabled facilities as they develop, rather than only when alarms go off. This new approach to SCADA gives operators insights into rapidly changing conditions that were previously impossible to achieve, while leaving experienced staff firmly in control of actions and response.

“The days of waiting for alarms are over,” said Ray Davis, Chief Executive Officer of BRS Labs. “With AISight, control room operators can recognize changes in operating conditions as they develop. It’s like ‘Super SCADA’ – true real-time, reason-based analytics using all the data from tens of thousands of sensors in an energy production facility. It’s a game changer, and a perfect expansion of AISight into an exciting new market.”

AISight for SCADA helps operators focus on overall system health, as well as identify opportunities for better supervision and control, by dramatically expanding the number of SCADA data sensors under active analysis at all times. Historical data is automatically analyzed and correlated with current conditions, accelerating response times for rapidly changing situations.

Designed for transparency and ease-of-use, AISight integrates intuitively with existing human-machine interface (HMI) control room systems. These solutions deploy rapidly, without impacting active production systems or requiring new investments in data networks or field-based sensors.

John Frazzini, President of BRS Labs, adds, “AISight is like adding 50 full-time analysts with historians to every SCADA control room, each available 24/7 to correlate information across tens of thousands of sensors in real-time. When something unexpected happens, all those essential relationships are already there, helping plant operators make better, faster decisions. AISight will enable our new SCADA customers to finally be able to take full advantage of the rich data their systems generate every day.”

AISight for SCADA is part of BRS Labs’ AISight Everywhere™ platform, a centralized system with modules for intelligent video analytics, intelligent alerting and operations assistance for SCADA, network security, Big Data analytics, building services and other core business functions. These solutions help improve safety, security and operational efficiency by alerting managers to unusual situations sooner and more accurately than other technologies. AISight supports better decisions by presenting critical alerts in an intuitive format, without requiring users to become analytics experts.

BRS Labs will demonstrate AISight for SCADA at Entelec 2014 Booth 413, held at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, May 20-22.
