Suffolk’s Tuddenham Mill was awarded the coveted 3 AA rosettes for food and service on Tuesday 17th January, making Tuddenham Mill one of only two establishments in Suffolk to hold this accolade.

The AA rosette scheme is one of the most prestigious awards recognised nationally for their strict assessment criteria evaluating and rewarding restaurants that demonstrate great improvement in the cooking standards and service.

The AA states, “Those with 3 rosettes are outstanding restaurants that demand recognition well beyond their local area offering sympathetic treatment of the highest quality ingredients with consistent timing, seasoning and judgement of flavour. Around just ten percent of the restaurants in our guide have three rosettes.”

Head Chef, Lee Bye

Tuddenham Mill’s Head Chef, Lee Bye, was delighted to receive the accolade and has said, “It is a great feeling for the team to reach this culinary milestone. Every day I am very proud to work with a team full of ambition and a desire to better themselves. I personally am proud as we have been able to achieve this by believing in what we do and offer at the Mill. Solid Anglo cooking with a real connection to its surroundings and customers alike, in a beautiful setting. My aim now is to continue with the job I set out to do from day one. Make memories, delight and exceed our guests’ expectations and create a solid, viable business here at Tuddenham Mill.”

General Manager, Malcolm Wyse, has added, “Food is a huge factor to our success and our dedicated and talented kitchen team are the heart of the property and their passion is shared throughout all departments of the hotel working together to create an amazing guest experience. This is a fantastic start to 2017 but our ambition remains simple, for Tuddenham to be a great place.”

In the last few years Tuddenham Mill restaurant and Lee’s talented cooking have been constantly recognised nationally by food critics and experts. Tuddenham Mill has been named the Best Restaurant in Suffolk in The Suffolk Food and Drink Awards 2016, received a very high cooking score of 5 from the UK’s bestselling restaurant guide, The Good Food

Guide and was featured in the Square Meal’s UK Top 100 list. Lee has also been crowned as Suffolk’s Chef of the Year in the Suffolk Food & Drink Awards 2015 and more recently awarded the prestigious Acorn Award 2016 and Acorn Scholarship 2017.
