Featuring a top speed of 170mph, along with power output of 321bhp, the new Vauxhall Insignia VXR SuperSport remains the UK's fastest car that you can buy for under £30,000 - and Frankfurt got a taste of the power.

At the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, Vauxhall handed the new Insignia VXR SuperSport its world premiere. The new model now benefits from a raft of design and chassis revisions which have been made across the entire Insignia range.

As with the previous model, the SuperSport is available in Hatch or Sports Tourer guise, although both versions have received a re-styled exterior.

Vauxhall has also modified the ESP software present to ensure even more precise handling and control of the car's understeer, along with upgrading the damper software as part of the SuperSport's 'FlexRide' adaptive damping system.

Noise Vibration Harshness behaviour has also been fine-tuned to achieve greater refinement for occupants. This has further enhancing the VXR SuperSport's credentials as one of the UK's best-value performance saloons.

Thanks to its excellent engine power rating, coupled with a six-speed manual transmission and all-wheel-drive, the new Vauxhall Insignia VXR SuperSport can complete the 0-62mph sprint in just 5.9 seconds (6.1 seconds for the Sports Tourer variant), before going on to a top speed of 170mph.

The new Vauxhall Insignia VXR SuperSport range now includes an all-new instrument panel and centre console design, incorporating optional Bluetooth-operate internet connectivity, an eight-inch touch-screen, 3D navigation and voice control. DAB is also offered as standard across the range.

Vauxhall's latest Insignia VXR SuperSport is available to order now, with prices starting at 29,749 for the Hatch and £31,049 for the Sports Tourer.
