On Saturday morning, we met some of my parent's friends at Nu for an early breakfast - after that we took a stroll along the promenade for a misty and chilly walk...
You can't visit Cape Town and not enjoy a wine farm. We headed out to Stellenbosch to Spier. We also had family visiting from Switzerland so we all met up there for a delicious lunch and glasses of wine.

We arrived at Spier wine farm where we had a reservation at Eight Restaurant. The meals were delicious and the company was fantastic. I can't believe how big Alex is - the last time I saw him, he was 3 years old and I was reading him bed time stories in Switzerland in 2010.

With our bellies full, we took a drive back to see the sunset on the promenade. It wasn't as spectacular as the night before (listen to me sounding like a sunset snob!) because of the thick band of cloud (cold front) coming. Still... I managed to get some really beautiful shots of my mom and dad.

That evening we stayed in and Sox and I cooked (impressed) for mom and dad. It was such an awesome, chilled end to another wonderful day.
On Sunday we woke up to a grey and gloomy day that brought side ways rain and polar ice wind. The perfect day for a drive along the coast; watching the angry sea crashing against the rocks as we headed to the Hout Bay Market.

After a leisurely morning at the market, we headed back to Sea Point to Mykonos. It's one of my favourite restaurants. The Greek food and atmosphere is awesome. We ordered a whole bunch of meze/starters and shared those.

After lunch, we decided to take a stroll by the V&A Waterfront so that dad could see the boats...
It was so chilly, so we decided to warm up at Giovanni's for a coffee.
Sox's mom bakes the best carrot cake - she even supplies some restaurants in Cape Town - and had made one especially for my parents. We headed back to the guest house, made tea, ate cake and played Link 4.
Sox headed off to DJ at Cafe Caprice and we followed shortly... Sunday nights are infamous at Caprice. My dad even had a tequila with Sox - proving that they truly are cooler than I am.
As if we hadn't eaten enough... We headed to Paranga for dinner...
It truly was an amazing weekend full of laughter, love, food, exploring and quality time.
I can't wait for the next visit and I've just found out my little sister is coming to Cape Town on business - can't wait for her visit too!
