Easter is only a hop, skip and a jump away. Lots of us are wondering what to do in Vancouver (and around Vancouver) with our kids this year to celebrate. Our city always has a great array of events for families to enjoy each year. In fact, with so many amazing events you’ll have no problem finding something that will make your kids and your wallet happy. Here are nine things to add to your list of what to do in Vancouver with your family can this upcoming Easter long weekend.

The Stanley Park Train

Always a hit each holiday season, the train is definitely a crowd-pleaser for kids of all ages. Generation after generation of Vancouverites have enjoyed it and it is a tradition that should continue for a really long time. From April 16-21, 2014 families will be able to enjoy a ride on the bunny train, hunt for Easter eggs, get their faces painted and have a great time rain or shine. Tickets for the train are really affordable as well. It’s $3.50 for adults, $8.75 for kids and youth aged 3-17, and $5.25 for the 2-and-under set. Pack up the family for a really great spring day!

Egg Hunt at Van Dusen

The 6th annual Great A-Mazing Egg Hunt will be underway at Van Dusen Botanical Garden on Saturday, April 19, 2014 for a full day of awesome.  With four different session times that day your little one is sure to have a great time and lots of laughs thanks to Bell E. Button’s the clown who will be on site to keep everyone smiling.  They will host great activities on the great lawn, an old school egg hunt and live music from Razzmajazz for everyone to enjoy.  This is a great way to enjoy a sunny spring day here in Vancouver, but space is limited.  Please refer to their website for pricing and how you can get your hands on some tickets to this fun packed day!

City Square Shopping Centre Easter Egg Hunt

If you have too many choices in front of you this is a great one to hit up since it is this upcoming weekend on Saturday, April 12, 2014 and even comes with a chance to win a 32″ Smart TV!  It’s a great answer for what to do in Vancouver with Daddy and the kids for a FREE day of fun. City Square will have tons of great activities to keep your little ones super busy: balloon twisting, crafts, egg hunt, an Easter themed photo booth for your little ones, face painting and even magic shadows. They really are going all out to make your day a really memorable one filled with things for your kids to take home and treasure.

Easter at Lonsdale Quay

On Sunday, April 20, 2014 the Quay will be hopping with excitement as they put on their own little Easter event for families on the North Shore. They will have some great activities for kids to enjoy. While supplies last there will be a great egg hunt, and for a small fee you can enjoy some face painting and balloon twisting!  It’s a great place to spend the day enjoying the incredible marketplace, grabbing a special bite to eat, having some fun and maybe even taking a fun ride on the SeaBus.

Easter Fair at Surrey Museum

On Saturday, April 19, 2014 Surrey Museum will be hosting a fun and educational Easter Fair for the whole family to enjoy.  With crafts, games, scavenger egg hunt and dancing dogs you will be fully entertained while you learn about the real Easter Bunny and other amazing wildlife.  You will also get a chance to see some rescue animals while talking to the incredible organizations dedicated to helping them. This event is for all ages and is completely by donation.

Easter at Westbrook Village UBC

This Saturday, April 12, 2014 the lovely folks at Westbrook will be putting on a great Easter event for all ages! Don’t forget to bring your own basket to this totally free event for the family. There will be an egg hunt, crafts and even some photo op time with the Easter Bunny himself. You are bound to walk away with some really affordable memories. The best part is your little ones will even have a lovely chance to make an adorable bunny cup. This event is only from 12:00-2:00pm so make sure you are on time if you add this event to your list of what to do in Vancouver.

Easter Brunch on Grouse Mountain

If you are looking for something a little more fancy and parent-friendly as well as kid-friendly, Easter brunch on Grouse Mountain is probably exactly what you are looking for. With a really sophisticated, delicious menu and an array of crowd pleasers for the little ones you will be making family memories and filling bellies without any complaints. Your host for brunch is the Easter Bunny himself, making sure all the little ones get some face time while you all enjoy a wonderful meal. Spaces are limited so ensure you snag your spot while you still can for Sunday, April 20, 2014!

Fort Langley Easter Fun

On Sunday, April 20, 2014 the historical site at Fort Langley will be hosting a great day of Easter fun.  With three scheduled egg hunts throughout the day you are for sure going to walk away with some great Easter goodies. The fun will run from10:00am – 5:00pm, but make sure to get there early so you can take full advantage. Regular admission rates apply for this event so please keep that in mind. Just in case you need some more convincing to add this event to your list of what to do in Vancouver, you will even get the chance to see fluffy bunnies and baby chicks!

Easter at the Greater Vancouver Zoo

Our zoo is really something special. Being privately owned our zoo relies on the amazing contributions of their guests to help serve their animals to the best of their ability. Take time to support them on Sunday, April 20, 2014 for a day of Easter fun! They will be pulling out all the stops, crafts, activities egg hunts and of course the Easter Bunny himself will be roaming the property ready for photo ops. Unlike all the other Easter celebrations you will get to spend the day with a ton of really amazing and interesting animals, enjoy the zoo train and even play at the park on the big snake slide.  It’s a great place to spend the day with family and all proceeds go to helping the animals at our very special zoo.
