Welcome Fellow Vintage and Antique Hallowe'en and Paper Ephemera Enthusiasts! Many of you know us as longtime collectors and sellers of vintage and antique Hallowe'en, Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Easter holiday memorabilia, antique dolls, old toys and lovely old china and glassware. For your all-year-long Hallowe'en loving pleasure, we are HAUNTINGly happy to present a FRIGHTfully fun instant vintage Hallowe'en collection! Spanning from the 1930s to the 1960s, this grouping features a SPOOKtacular variety of old party decorations! Included here is a SPOOKtacular crepe paper hat with a diecut flying black bat. This hat has shiny silver trim and is marked Made in USA. It mostly likely hails from the 1930s or slightly earlier. This hat is in EXCELLENT condition! The next item is a diecut owl mask made by oh-so-cool Beistle Company of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, USA – although it is unmarked. This mask is in great condition for its age, but our feathered friend is missing his elastic string. One “ear” tip has a light crease, and the back has a small paper lift which does not detract. On the back, there is some writing in pencil including the date 10/18/35. As collectors know, paper ephemera items such as this SPOOKY piece made by Beistle are continuing to be most desirable. The working cardboard and crepe paper horn has a shiny golden metal mouthpiece and awesome graphics including a flying witch on her broomstick, flying bats and owls and a black cat with arched back. This horn is unmarked but is unquestionably an item made by the Bugle Toy Company and most likely hails from the 1940s. This manufacturer is notorious for producing their items without a mark. Not much is known about the very mysterious Bugle Toy Co. This party horn makes a loud honk! By the way, whenever we sell horns such as this one, Ziz always protects the mouthpiece when trying them to see if they work. None of Ziz’s DNA will be coming along for the ride! The horn is a little flattened from age and there is a small area of surface paper loss to the back only. There are some light creases but this horn displays beautifully. The charming hard plastic scarecrow candy container, or sucker holder, with his pumpkin / Jack o' Lantern head, hails from the 1950s and was made by The Rosen Co. He is in wonderful condition with the exception of his stem which has been partially lost. When originally sold, this fellow probably had a hang-tag with his markings – and that explains why the piece itself is unmarked. His paint is in superb condition with a couple of tiny rubs to his elbows. He has no cracks. YAY! The adorable paper Trick or Treat bag hails from the 1960s and features a spooky haunted house, a boy dressed as a pirate, a girl dressed as a witch accompanied by their clown friend, and black bats fly against an orange full moon. The image appears on both sides and this individual candy bag is in MINT condition. Ziz loves to offer groupings such as this one from time to time. It’s a chance for the novice collector to join our fun hobby and begin a collection of his or her very own.
