LINCOLN - The Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce has several events for members and the public to attend in June to connect with businesses in the region.

Take time out to enjoy one of New England's treasures on Monday, June 9, by attending a barbecue and Pawtucket Red Sox game at McCoy Stadium. Join fellow attendees under a private tent, premier seating, dinner and a visit from Paws, one of the mascots for the team. The barbecue starts at 5 p.m., and the game is slated to begin at 7:05. You can bring your family, friends, employees, co-workers or clients.

Tickets are $20 for Chamber members, $10 for children age 15 and younger and $45 for non-Chamber members. Registration information for all events is at the end of this story.

* Young professionals can attend the kick off of YP North today, June 5, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at The Last Resort, 325 Farnum Pike, Smithfield. The new group will help attendees forge important relationships that will broaden their knowledge and fuel their enthusiasm to succeed and get involved in the community.

Following an hour of networking, attendees can connect with Nick Garrison, founder and chief executive officer of Foolproof Brewery in Pawtucket. Last Resort will offer free appetizers, and there will be a cash bar. Chamber members who preregister can attend the event for free. Walk-ins and nonmembers will be charged $10. The age range for YP North members is between 21 and 40.

* Vision Care Cumberland, 1800 Mendon Road, will be the location of a Networking at Night event slated for June 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. Open your eyes to new opportunities while enjoying hors d'oeuvres and ice cream sundaes. Vision Care personnel will offer complimentary eyewear adjustments, repairs and cleanings. Also, chair massages will be available. The cost is $10 for Chamber members that preregister; $15 for members that register at the door;and $30 for nonmembers.

* The Chamber and Blackstone Valley Independent Business Alliance are organizing a cash mob that will go to two local businesses after meeting on June 16 at 6 p.m. in the Market Square municipal parking lot on Main Street in Woonsocket. The lot is across from the Museum of Work & Culture, 42 South Main St. The selected businesses will be identified at 6:15. Cash mobs are large groups of consumers that agree to spend at least $20 on items of their own choosing at designated venues. People do not have to register for the event.

* The free counseling and training series being presented by the Small Business Administration and City of Pawtucket will continue on Saturday, June 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Blackstone Valley Tourism Council Visitor Center, 175 Main St., Pawtucket, with a session on developing a marketing plan. Other events for the month include:

* Managing Difficult Employees, Performance Issues and Reviews (Day 6 of the Principles of Leadership 1 Series) from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on June 17 at the Chamber's office, 6 Blackstone Valley Place, Suite 402, Lincoln.

* Social Media - the Small Business Administration and City of Pawtucket's Guide to Small Business Resource Series - on June 18 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Blackstone Valley Tourism Council's Visitor Center, 175 Main St., Pawtucket. Co-sponsors are the Chamber, Pawtucket Foundation, TD Bank, Service Corps of Retired Executives and the Center for Women and Enterprise. * Business Before Hours at the Courtyard by Marriott, 636 George Washington Highway, Lincoln, on June 19 from 8 to 9:15 a.m. Enjoy breakfast and share ideas. The cost is $5 for members and $25 for nonmembers.
