***This position requires typing and spelling test scores.*** The testing can be completed at the Texas City Workforce at 3549 Palmer Highway in Texas City. Please make sure to mention that you want to take the tests for positions at UTMB Health. Testing is available Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM (except holidays). No appointment is needed. A photo ID is required.

Salary Range
The salary range is from $34,880 to $42,000 annually.

Specific Job Related Duties
Provided statistical and financial reports for grant accounting process established by department
Reconciliation of grant accounts on a monthly basis
Preparation of federal grant applications
Process purchasing transactions for research laboratories
Process faculty and staff travel and expense reimbursements
Create and schedule appointments and meetingfs for assigned faculty
Coordinate calendar schedules for faculty
Assistant with manuscript and official letter preparation
Adhere to internal controls established for department
Perform related duties as required
Preferred Skill/Competency
Strong financial background required especially proficient in the use of Excel and Word
PeopleSoft Financial Management systems to include purchasing, statistical reports and database management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Work Experience
Five Years of Related Experience in the UTMB system is preferable
Preferred Work Experience
* Reconciliation of grant accounts and purchasing transactions for research labs as well as preparation of federal grant applications
* Prior administrative support for a research lab
