JOB DESCRIPTION:

To provide the technical expertise required to support and advance application and system software functions of the computer installation at the decision-making level.

Salary Range

From $90,000.00 To $115,000.00 Annually

Specific Job Related Duties

Responsible for the Qlik Sense & QlikView Dashboard & Report development, which includes QlikView dashboard design /QlikView Script writing - connecting with varied sources (flat file/SQL Server/Oracle etc.), data cleansing, data analysis.

Develop interactive data applications that tell a story.

Develop and document visualization best practices.

Develop and support data governance processes, analyze, normalize data to identify and articulate trends, patterns, outliers, quality issues, and continuously validate reports, dashboards and suggest improvements.

Extract, transform and load data from multiple sources into Qlik applications.

Develop Set Analysis to provide the custom functionality in Qlik Applications.

Provide input on proposing, evaluating and selecting appropriate design alternatives which meet business requirements and are consistent with current standards and processes.

Provide routine production support duties on a rotational basis during off-hours and weekends.

Train business end-users, analyst, and developers.

Provide support and assist in development on other BI tools at UTMB including OBIEE.

Execute projects using agile development techniques.

Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Work Schedule

8 am to 5 pm (rotational after hour on-call support)

Location: Clear Lake/Webster (Primary)/Galveston (Secondary)

Preferred Education

BS/BA in related field or equivalent relevant work experience.

5+ years of experience working with Business Intelligence tools with at least 3 years using Qlik products.

Preferred Skill/Competency

Ability to tell a story with data while utilizing visualization UI, UX and design best practices.

Ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders to translate business information needs into well-defined data requirements to implement the BI solutions.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments.

Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Perform QlikView & QlikSense system administration and testing of releases and patches.

Preferred Work Experience

5+ years of experience working with Business Intelligence tools with at least 3 years using Qlik products.

Expertise in building data visualizations using Qlik with a strong understanding of the appropriate chart types to use to highlight patterns in the data.

Experience working with large data sets & experience in EDW environment with complex data models (minimum 5 years of experience).

Strong and demonstrated experience with SQL programming, writing advanced queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, joins, performance tuning, etc.

Experience providing application support and resolving multiple incident and change tickets simultaneously.

Must have developed enterprise applications for use in production environments, and have experience in section access, security authentication & authorization, dynamic reduction, etc.

Experienced with Change Control procedures and software version control.

Experience working with Health Catalyst EDW & building its applications.

Health care experience - preferably experience in healthcare analytics.

Experience with SQL Server 2012 and/or 2014 or Oracle.

Perform QlikView & QlikSense system administration and testing of releases and patches.

Experience and understanding of business terms used by hospitals and academic medical centers.

Experience with the following data sources: PeopleSoft (Financial Management System, Human Capital Management, and Campus Solutions), Epic Clarity, Kronos, EPSi, and Press Ganey
