This Mechanic Maintenance opening provides the right candidate with a great opportunity to learn and grow in the facilities engineering field within a manufacturing environment. This position will be an on-site maintenance mechanic providing critical support to our Woven Electronics facility in Simpsonville, South Carolina.

This position will be a critical team member supporting the facilities engineering function.

* JOB DESCRIPTION*
*SUMMARY*
Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of skilled mechanic duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and modify mechanical equipment and facilities performing the following duties.

* ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Follows blueprints, drawings and general instructions to plan and layout assignments.

Assembles, installs and repairs mechanical and electromechanical equipment and systems such as production machinery/tools, storage racks and tanks, and facility equipment.

Uses a wide variety of hand, power and machine tools (includes drill press, grinders, and numerical control equipment) to perform assignments.

Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical equipment and systems requiring the isolation of the malfunction, disassembly of equipment and repair/replacement of bearings, gears, and structural components.

Maintains and performs limited repair of the plant-wide electrical system.

Maintains and performs limited repair of plant-wide water, plumbing and sewer system.

Experienced in operating forklifts, scissors lifts, and related equipment.

Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and mechanical systems.

* EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE*
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* LANGUAGE SKILLS*
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

* MATHEMATICAL SKILLS *
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

* REASONING ABILITY*
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
