LORTON, Va. | A total of 125 coaches from 27 clubs attended the LaLiga Formation Methodology Level 3 course, July 29-31 at South County High School in Lorton, Va.

It was the third coaching education course of the ongoing series, in which LaLiga methodology advisors teach methods used in Spanish academies to American coaches. LaLiga Formation Methodology is a part of Players First and the long-term technical partnership between LaLiga and US Club Soccer.

In addition to playing host of this course, the Virginia NPL – a member of the National Premier Leagues – also hosted a Player Development Program (PDP) on Monday, marking the first time LaLiga advisors participated in a US Club Soccer PDP.

“Virginia NPL was proud to host the LaLiga Formation Methodology Level 3 course as part of US Club Soccer’s Players First initiative,” Mike Cullina, Prince William Courage Technical Director and US Club Soccer Board of Directors member, said. “We are committed to providing meaningful coaching development opportunities, as it has a direct impact on player development. The information and tools provided through the course were exceptional. Kimet Sport is the most powerful curriculum development and session planning tool available in the world and the only one that includes a methodology used across the academies of Spain.”

Participants also received a one-year license to Kimet Sport – the software for design, control, evaluation and periodization of training sessions used as for the course and by LaLiga academies. The license is valid for one age group per year per attendee.

The next LaLiga Formation Methodology course, which is headlined by the attendance of Raúl González Blanco as LaLiga Ambassador, will be held at Elmhurst College in Illinois, Aug. 5-7. Tomorrow (Thursday) night is the deadline to register.

US Club Soccer signed LaLiga to a long-term technical partnership in August 2015 at the Players First launch event. LaLiga Formation Methodology is a staple of the partnership, as LaLiga methodology experts share curriculum used across its academies to train some of the world’s best players.
