Kindergarten teacher
Shenzhen Shiyan International School, located in Shenzhen in the south of Chinas mainland opposite Hong Kong, opens its doors in August 2016. The school was a public (state) school comprising 6, 000 students, 4, 000 of whom will in future belong to the new private international school.. Following a program of substantial renovation and development, SSYIS will be one of the best-appointed schools in the area offering IB international, dual-language (Fusion) and Chinese national curricula to students aged 3-18. The kindergarten has more than 600 children and the first of the international KG programs, with two co-teachers (western and Chinese) per class, will start in August.
Job Description
1 Teach classes as detailed in the programs of study, as outlined in the contract and detailed job description, to include all duties usually associated with a professional teacher's role, to include course promotion
2 Prepare lesson plans and schemes of work which exploit the full range of educational resources available and which differentiate effectively for age and ability
3 Fulfill the tasks relating to the Tutors role
4 Play an active part in children character development, exploiting every opportunity for delivering a rounded, holistic education
5 Carry out formative and summat assessments as scheduled, and complete student reports on time
6 Collaborate in a collegiate manner with your co-teacher (where appropriate) and with other colleagues
7 Attend and deliver continuing professional development sessions, lesson observations and appraisal, meetings, as required
8 Maintain a smart, professional, efficient and child-centered profile at all times, abiding by the guidelines in the Teachers Manual
9 Contribute to the enrichment and extra-curricular program, sharing occasional boarding duties.
Subject-specific Competence
1 Together with the KG team, plan and deliver the programs of study and schemes of work
2 Adhere to curriculum time lines, planning ahead of time and meeting due deadlines
3 Play a leading role in providing an English language dimension for the school
4 Play a leading role in promoting the development of the international school, especially within the local community.

Role Competence
1 Native or fluent English speakers
2 Bachelor/Master degree and either a teaching qualification or TEFL- /TESOL-related certificate
3 Preference given to teachers with relevant (foreign) teaching experience
4 Higher-level interpersonal competence and a positive, pioneering attitude
5 Clean criminal record and good health.

Benefits Package
1 Base salary RMB 12,000 to 26, 000 (gross) per month, with additional management incentives
