We-I mean pet owners- have all been there, there comes a time when you are very low on cash and suddenly you have to pay for a veterinary medical bill.

Pet insurance can surely be of help-if you have it-, but there times when your pet’s medical emergency or illness will be too much and will exceed your resources.

What to do then?



Well,-[considering you are a human being who wouldn’t just abandon his pet]- there are some financial resources and options which you can look to for help.

The Pet Fund

Registered 501(c)3 non profit association, they can help providing financial assistance to owners of domestic animals who need veterinary care.

IMOM

An all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity that does its best helping people cover vet bills when its too much for them and they can’t do it themselves.

They also offer their help with spay/neuter and have a staff that will answer your questions or get you the resources you need for any issues with your pet.

RedRover.org

The RedRover Is a relief program that aims at providing support, both financial and emotional, to good Samaritans, pet owners and animal rescuers. They help them care for animals which can be considered in life-threatening situations and provide resources for victims of domestic violence to help them escape abusive environments with their pets.

Harley’s Hope Foundation

This foundation offer several services to help low-income pet owners, seniors, short-term foster care and service animals.

Banfield Charitable Trust

They have numerous programs that include grants to help with veterinary care, food programs, helping home-bound pet owners and owners in hospice care and many others.

The Onyx & Breezy Foundation

This privately-run non profit originally started in memory of the founder’s dogs. They help animals in a variety of ways: They have spay/neuter programs, getting dogs on death row out of high-kill shelters and provide emergency medical care to animals whose owners are having hard times.
