Oh Oh, I know the answer to this one, a person who forces his dog into a dog fighting ring, then abandons him and leave him for dead!
Every year, countless dogs who had been forced into dogfighting are abandoned by no else than the people who forced them into it in the first place.
They usually end up either dead or strays on the street, or they get euthanized. However, very few lucky ones can make it, and they get a second chance in life, Slim, was one of those.
Slim is a pit bull terrier who had been used for dog fighting in Floyd County, GA. After his rescue, he lived in a small cage in the Floyd County Animal shelter.
Thanks to to breed legislation, Floyd country doesn’t allow the adoption of pit bulls, that meant this dog had slim to none chance of making it. That’s why he was called “Slim” later on.
For the first few weeks there, Slim was very scared and shut down. He would pancake and flatten his body to the ground when asked to walk out of a door into another room. The dog was starving, anemic, sick, and on the brink of death.
However, Slim’s story found its way to the hearts of animal lovers all over the world through Facebook. and people from all over the globe began urging someone to help this poor creature and give him a second chance in life.
It wasn’t long before Slim was finally rescued and brought to an animal hospital, there, the staff was able to see the toll that dogfighting took on the dog, one of many examples they found was that he recently had his ear torn off.
