Music Class with Mo Phillips at The Treehouse. Join for a rockin' good time. Friday 10am. $5/child. Just one week left to support Mo's Kickstarter Campaign for the new album.

First Friday at Art ala Carte. Enjoy open studio every First Friday of the month on donation basis only. No studio fee all day! You choose how little or how much you want to donate! You can make monetary donations or bring in art supplies/recycled goodies or art related books.

Most needed this month:bows, bells, baby food jars, mason jars, hardware, shoe boxes, small happy meal style toys, googly eyes, glitter and pom poms.
Friday 10am-5pm. 

Free First Friday at the Children's Museum. Enjoy free admission the first Friday of every month, with special crafts, activities,and musical guests. Friday 4-8pm. Free!   

Family Park Night at East Portland Community Center. Low cost night out with the family. Indoor Park toys, sports and trampoline. Friday 6:30-8:30pm. $1.25/child.

Kids Workshops at Home Depot. Workshops
teach children do-it-yourself skills, tool safety and instill a sense
of pride and accomplishment. Designed for children ages 5 - 12. Saturday 9am-noon. Free!

Metro Parent's Education & Enrichment Fair. Discover all the educational
opportunities the greater Portland metro area has to offer. Come and
see dozens of private and public schools as well as businesses offering
children's classes, lessons, and other before- and after-school
programs. Collect information, talk to educators and providers and
evaluate opportunities for your child.  For a complete list of participating organizations, click here. Saturday 10am to 3:30pm at OMSI Auditorium, 1945 SE Water Street, Portland.

GirlFest 2013 at the Portland Expo Center. A day-long celebration featuring hands-on activities and experiences for girls to learn, explore and enjoy. Saturday 10am-4pm. $15 in advance, $20 at the door.

Once Upon a Time Family Theatre at Portland Metro Arts presents a tale about the importance of sharing and the most important things to share with The Golden Goose. Saturday 12-12:45pm. $1 children, $2 adults.

Ian Doescher Shakespeare's Star Wars at Green Bean Books. Local
author reads from his laugh out loud retelling of Star Wars using the
Bard's signature storytelling style. Saturday 1-2pm. Free!

Lantern Tour at Fort Vancouver. Journey
with a Park Ranger and peek into the past with vignettes by costumed
interpreters and learn about your urban National park then and now. Recommended ages 10 and up. Saturday 6:30-8:30pm. $7-10.

Celebrate Sustainability at OMSI. Discover
ways that you can make your celebrations more sustainable with homemade
gifts, ornaments, wrapping paper, and healthy treats! Sunday 10am-4pm. $3 suggested donation. It's also $2 First Sunday where visitors enjoy discounted $2 admission to OMSI from 9:30am-5:30pm.

The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged) at Oregon Children's Theatre. Join
three madcap men as they weave their wicked way through Shakespeare's
comedies, histories, and tragedies in a wild ride that will leave
audiences helpless with laughter. This show has mature themes & bawdy language typical of Shakespeare's work. Best ages 11+. Sunday 2pm. $12+.
