Super Kids Resale Consignment Event in Gresham. Shop 
90,000+ quality, gently used items such as baby, kid and maternity
clothes, toys, books,baby gear, furniture and anything else related to
kids with savings of 50-90 %off retail prices. Thursday - Sunday starting at 9am. Free admission.

Ladybug Nature Walk: Columbia Children's Arboretum. Naturalist led stroll. Ages 2-5, with grown-up. Stroller-accessible. Friday 10-11am. $4/child.

8th Annual Dancing In The Square Powwow. The
event will include Northwest Tribal leaders, Indian advocates, drum
groups, dancers, and arts and crafts vendors who will share their
talents and experiences with the Portland community. Friday noon-7pm. Free! 

Pajama Math Party at Green Bean Books.
Kids will get to make their own mystery clocks, build their own stuffed
animal zip lines, solve tangram puzzles, and do a couple of wacky Bedtime Math
problems. Friday 6:30-7:30pm. This event is free but space is limited,
reservations required. Register by calling (503) 954-2354.

Smithsonian Free Museum Day. Participating
museums free nationwide. Download coupon. Local participants include
Blue Sky-The Oregon Center for Photographic Arts, Oregon History
Museum, Oregon Nikkei Legacy Center, Portland Art Museum, Rice
Northwest Museum of Rocks and Minerals and The World Forestry Center.
Saturday all day. Free!

National Public Lands Day. The nation's largest, single-day volunteer effort for public lands. Saturday 8am-5pm. Free!

Cider Squeeze at Philip Foster Farm.
Cider Squeeze is a day filled with crafts, food, music, and
history-inspired activities. Saturday 10am-4pm. $5/person, $20/family.

Global Cardboard Challenge at Portland Children's Museum.
Children and adults from all over the world will test their
imaginations to make creations out of cardboard and other materials. PCM
supplies the materials, if you supply a dream. This challenge is open
to all ages. Saturday 10am-4pm. Free with museum admission.

James and the Giant Peach opens at Northwest Children's Theater.
Take to the skies on the wings of a...peach? Anything is possible when
young James Trotter discovers a magical escape from his dreary life
with aunts Spiker and Sponge. Saturday and Sunday noon and 4pm.

Mr Lizard Reptile Show at SuperKids Resale in Gresham.
Come see Mr Lizard and his mobile Reptile zoo at the Super Kids Resale
Event. Mr Lizard's show includes pythons, tortoises, lizards, boa,
monitors, tarantula and the crowd favorite, "Pickle" the Pixie Frog. The
kids get to touch all the animals and learn interesting facts! Saturday
noon-1pm. Free!

Oktoberfest Celebration at Grand Lodge. Join in the celebration! Food and drink specials (bratwurst, anyone?) as well as live music, a balloon man and facepainter. Saturday and Sunday. See day links for complete schedule. Free!

Southwest Portland Sunday Parkways.
End the Sunday Parkways season with a trek in Southwest!  Enjoy the
added walk-only route, rolling hills, beautiful views, and Hillsdale and
Multnomah business districts.  Activities, music, food, and vendors
will be located in Gabriel Park, Multnomah Village, and Hillsdale
Shopping Center. 6 miles round trip, 4.5 miles walking route. Sunday
11am-4pm. Free!

Grandparents, Grand Stories: My Family Tree at St. Johns Library.
Get a jump start on building your family tree chart and family
photo collage.  Bring copies of your family photos to personalize this
fun craft activity that represents your unique family history. 
Little ones can craft a book of their own to take home. Sunday 2-4pm.
Free!
