On an invitation from the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, I flew Air Arabia Mumbai-Sharjah-Mumbai to be a part of the Sharjah Light Festival where 14 locations of Sharjah awed me with a visually superb display of light and music.

The Mumbai Sharjah 4.55 am Air Arabia flight was an Airbus 320 with 3X3 seats. It was a 165 seater. What I particularly liked was the ample leg space provided. The seat pitch is 32 inches as compared to other airlines which have 28 inches seat pitch. This allowed me to stretch my legs without any discomfort.

Sleeping Set

Mr Bean aired on the drop down common screens under the cabin baggage storage kept me awake till my pre booked breakfast arrived. I was served masala dosa which was hot and fresh. I liked that it was conveniently served in the form of a wrap making it non messy. The two pieces of dosa were filling and came with the accompaniment of coconut chutney. My delicious hot chocolate drink came later.

Nawras inflight Magazine

Deciding to catch up on my reading, I went through Nawras which is the inflight magazine of Air Arabia while announcements of Air Arabia’s CSR activities all over the world were being displayed on the common screens. You can also indulge the shopaholic in you by choosing from the inflight duty free shopping options covering a plethora of jewellery, fragrances, watches, gadgets and fashion accessories like sunglasses, cosmetics, confectionery, cigars and cigarettes.

Vegetable biryani with raita

For 60 AED passengers can purchase the sleeping set which comprises of a blanket, pillow and eye mask. As I looked around, at an altitude of 36,000 feet most of the passengers were blissfully asleep. I also dozed off.

Approaching Mumbai

My return flight from Sharjah to Mumbai was scheduled for 11.45 pm. Post a smooth check in and collection of my boarding pass, during the duration of the flight I rested most of the time. I was served vegetable biryani with raita. The meal was fresh. The raita was thick just the way I like it. Air Arabia has its own catering company called Alpha Catering. A smooth landing on time made my Air Arabia experience memorable.
