How To Study Indian Polity For IAS Exam?
There are no NCERT texts which can be suggested as a comprehensive material for the Indian Polity, but Class 11 and 12 NCERT textbook of Political Science – ‘Indian Constitution at work’ is a good starting point. If you want to get a comprehensive idea about Indian Constitution and its 395 articles, the best source is our post : Constitution of India : List of All Articles (1-395) and Parts (1-22). We also suggest to follow ClearIAS.com’s article series on Indian Constitution. We have tried to cover in detail, each article of Indian Constitution, explaining the non-constitutional or current affairs associated with each article. We hope this article series to help aspirants with a rigid frame work and clarity of thoughts for Prelims, Mains and Interview.
Books to Prepare Indian Polity for UPSC IAS Exam
It will be a cliche to recommend Indian Polity for Civil Services Examinations – M. Laxmikanth here again. This is a really useful book for all stages of examination, and particularly Prelims. Introduction to the Constitution of India by Durga Das Basu and Our Parliament by Subhash Kashyap are also equally recommendable books for Indian Polity. If you have only a limited time, you should focus only on one book for Indian Polity. Explore other options once you are comfortable with any of the three books mentioned above.
