That OutKast album everyone wanted never came last year when Big Boi and Andre 3000 reunited for a handful of tour dates; however, there is finally new music on the horizon from Daddy Fat Sacks—which you can hear below.

Big Boi teamed up with NYC electronic duo Phantogram—who also collaborated with Atlanta rapper on his 2012 album, Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumors—to release “Fell in the Sun,” a bright (no pun intended) piece of pop-rap that sees Boi slowly waxing poetic over electrified drums about his origin story. To be fair, Big’s lyrics are far from his career’s best (even if he boasts “we extraterrestrial, extraordinary” on the cut), but the big, booming sound and Sarah Barthel’s soothing, crooning hook make “Fell in the Sun” replay-worthy.

Pitchfork recently caught up with the trio when they announced their upcoming joint EP, Big Grams, on which “Fell in the Sun” will feature. As Barthel tells the publication, the poppy aesthetic of the track is actually what they were going for.

The idea of the project was to do something fun and to not be stressed out about releasing an album that’s going to be, that’s gotta sound like this, or it has to be like that, because sometimes that happens with Phantogram, or other artists can have the same problem. We took it lighter. We told ourselves this is going to be a fun project and we can just throw out there and see what happens[.]

Dig it? Big Grams drops on September 25 through Epic. Check track plus the album’s tracklist down below.
