Hopefully by now, you’re more than aware that this week saw the release of Chet Faker‘s Built On Glass LP. We’ve been waiting quite some time for his first full-length, and we loved it so much that it’s been put On The Record, of course. Now, the Australian singer-songwriter has aired a new video for the album track “1998″, which was recently premiered by Stereogum.

It’s an education in an ’80s culture of geometric shapes, pops of shock-colour and that good, old reliable synth-pop sound. The Domenico Bartolo- directed animation by illustrator Grace Lee figures a cartoon Chet Faker marching to an unhalting rhythm, with the message that the best way to deal with heartbreak is just to keep moving.

Built On Glass is now available to buy through Downtown Records/Future Classic.
