Wayne Clair Alder Sr.

Big Oak Flat resident Wayne Clair Alder Sr. died Nov. 7 at his home. He was 57.
Mr. Alder was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and worked as a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed building motorcycles and car motors. He also enjoyed hiking in the mountains and dogs. He lived in Big Oak Flat for 22 years.
Mr. Alder was preceded in death by his father, Clair Alder, in 1964.
He is survived by his mother, Marie Hunter, of Salt Lake City; his ex-wife of 20 years, Cynthia Alder, of Sonora; children and their spouses, Gerry and Ranuta Alder, of Cooperton, Utah, Karen and Jeff Weichers, of Simi Valley, Chad Alder, of Chandler, Ariz., Caleen Hightower, of Sonora, Wayne Alder Jr., of Santa Clara, and Michelle Alder, of Lake Tahoe; nine grandchildren; and siblings, Bruce Alder, of Mount Shasta, Kenneth Alder, of Joseph, Utah, and Valerie Stuhff, of Salt Lake City.
No services will be held.

Robert ‘Bob’ Eastman
Sept. 18, 1931 — Nov. 14, 2012
Angels Camp resident Robert Clayton “Bob” Eastman died Wednesday at his home. He was 81.
Mr. Eastman was born in Alameda to Harlan and LaRelda “Lorry” Eastman.
He grew up in Oakland.
He entered the U.S. Army in 1952 during the Korean War, where he served in the 82nd Airborne. Mr. Eastman was a paratrooper and Green Beret with the 10th Special Forces Unit, and was honorably discharged in 1955.
Mr. Eastman married Patty Fischer and moved Calaveras County to raise a family in 1958.
They lived in Altaville for 18 years and Mr. Eastman later settled in Angels Camp.
Mr. Eastman worked in the heating, air conditioning and welding trades. He also briefly worked for Tanner Real Estate as a sales agent.
He started Angels Sheet Metal Inc. in 1967. He owned and operated the business until retirement in 1990. He served on the Angels Camp City Council from 1972 to 1978.
He married Brenda Young in July 1991.
Mr. Eastman was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Brenda Eastman, of Angels Camp; his children, Lorri Eastman, of Murphys, and Clay Eastman, of Murphys; his stepchildren, Chris Hiller and his wife, Rehka, of Livermore, and Erika Harrop, of Napa; his sister, Nancy and her husband, Dick Hanson; of Murphys; and his grandchildren, Clint, Kyle and Connor Eastman, all of Murphys; Milan, Reena and Sonia Hiller, of Livermore; and Danny and Maxwell Harrop, of Napa; and his former wife, Patty Cripe and her husband, Rodger, of Murphys.
A funeral service was scheduled for 11 a.m. today at the Union Congregational Church in Angels Camp, followed by a reception at the Masonic Lodge on Church Street in Murphys.
Angels Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
Donna June Trisler
Jan 21, 1939 — Nov. 12, 2012
Donna June Trisler, of Sonora, died Nov. 12 at a Modesto care center. She was 73.
Mrs. Trisler was born in Oilton, Okla., to Patrick and Flossie Kersey. She moved with her family to San Francisco as a young child and attended school in Oakland.
She married John Wilder and they had two sons, John and Craig Wilder. They later divorced.
She later moved to Fairfield and married Paul Trisler and had two more sons, Paul Trisler Jr. and Lance Trisler. She spent many years living in Fairfield and was a property manager in Sacramento and Tuolumne counties before retiring to Sonora.
Mrs. Trisler enjoyed reading the Bible, cooking for family and going to the casino to play slot machines.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick Kersey and Flossie Stivers; and her brother, Gary Kersey.
She is survived by her children and their wives, John Wilder, of Tracy, Craig Wilder, of Paradise, Paul and Felina Trisler, of Modesto, and Lance Trisler, of Kennewick, Wash.; grandchildren, Kyle Trisler, of Portland, Ore., Erica Trisler, of Modesto, Rebecca and Samantha Trisler, of Sacramento and Nicholas Trisler, of Sacramento; her brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Evelyn Kersey, of Salem, Ore.; one niece; one nephew; and numerous extended relatives.
Private services will be held. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Alvah Vernon Shaw
June 8, 1928 — Nov. 16, 2012
Lifelong Sonora resident Alvah Vernon Shaw died Friday at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto. He was 84.
Mr. Shaw was born in Sonora to Walt and Charlotte Shaw.
As a young man he helped his father till the land with a horse-drawn plow. He was also a firefighter with what is now Cal Fire and drove a Sonora High School bus while he was still a student. He graduated from Sonora High School in 1946.
After graduation, he worked for Pickering Lumber Co., which later became Louisiana-Pacific, and the Tuolumne County Public Works/Road Operations and Maintenance Department before retirement in 1989.
Mr. Shaw enjoyed farming, gardening, and being a cowboy. He was a five-gallon blood donor.
He was a member of the of the East Belt Masonic Lodge, Independent Order of Odd Fellows of Tuolumne, and the Sonora Grange 705. He received the Masonic Lodge Hiram Award and was named Rainbow Dad for the Sonora Rainbow Girls in the 1980s.
Mr. Shaw was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Beth McColloch Shaw, in 1982; his father in 1957; his mother, in 1986; his brother, George Shaw, in 1968; his sisters, Dotty Mae Goins and Peggy Shaw; and his grandsons, Michael McEwen, in 1983, and Joshua Corker, in 2009.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Cleta and Larry Corker, of Turlock, and Reta and Mike McEwen, of Patterson; his siblings; Geraldine Dunbar, of Sonora; Patty Armijo, of Sonora; and Neola Jacobsen and her husband, Jake, of Bishop; his grandchildren, Danita Corker, of Denver, Colo., Lisa Cox and her husband, Matt, of Atwater, Katie McEwen, of San Diego, and Mary McEwen, of Patterson; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home. A reception will follow.
