|header= Minor issue in SpecialPages, broken interwiki links

|description=

There's some HowTo and UnBooks talk pages listed on [[Special:UncategorizedPages]]. [[Did You Know]] was also uncategorized. I also ran across some articles from 2005 and 2006 though I just re-redirected them again. I'm also seeing the occasional red link to foreign uncyclopedias. [[User:MadMax|MadMax]] ([[User talk:MadMax|talk]]) 12:23, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

:I noticed the interwiki red link problem too, on [[Esperanto]] for example (check the recent history) --{{User:TKF/sig}} 15:14, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

::MadMax: what do you mean you "ran across some articles from 2005 and 2006"?

::On the interwiki issue: it is being dealt with (very, very, verrrrry slowly, mainly because I'm the one dealing with it). See Carlb's comments on it above, and the [[Forum:URL links within our own site and other sites|two]] [[Forum:Links to our site must be updated ASAP|forums]] about them. And also my talk page, Carlb's and Cartoonist Henning's.

::If you see an interwiki link that is broked, get back to me on mah [[User talk:Bizzeebeever|talk page]].{{User:Bizzeebeever/signature|20130113223257}}

Specifically, I redirected:

*{{Querylink|Samuel L. Jackson|qs=action=history}}, a page I originally redirected back in 2006. The original one-liner was there even though my edit was still in the history. I did the same thing with [[Playstation]].

*[[iPods]], a quote written by Famine from 2005. I merged it with [[iPod]] though it was most likely redirected to that article on the old site.

*[[Suxx0r]], a quote written by Codeine from 2005. I merged it with [[Ancient Leet language]].

*[[Quotes4]], [[Quote37]], and [[Quote38]] were Oscar Wilde quotes from 2005 that I assume were from the old Wilde project.

[[Mandate]] and [[Plus]] are also 2005 articles. I don't know if there's an expanded version of these on the old site.

I've seen more than a few pages now with red interwiki links. Is this something that will eventually be fixed or should I remove them when I see them? [[User:MadMax|MadMax]] ([[User talk:MadMax|talk]]) 12:39, 14 January 2013 (UTC)

Here are some other odd pages that are listed:

*[[Video 293849]], [[Video 295425]], [[Video 296038]], [[Video 296044]], [[Video 296639]], [[Video 297947]], [[Video 298839]], [[Video 299534]], [[Video 300199]], [[Video 300470]], [[Video 300626]], [[Video 300996]], [[Video 301734]], and [[Video 302180]]. They were created in 2008 but they don't seem to be part of an article.

*[[Furries (duplicate)]], [[Star wars (duplicate)]], [[Star wars (duplicate)]], an [[Zoology (duplicate)]]. These were never created but continue to be listed in the Special pages.

*[[Bg:Volen Siderov]], [[eo:Bonaqualogy]], and [[it:Silent Hill]]. I'm not sure if this is related to the interwiki problem but pages like this were also on the old site's special pages. The first one exists as an article on this website and originally created in 2007.

[[User:MadMax|MadMax]] ([[User talk:MadMax|talk]]) 13:03, 14 January 2013 (UTC)

:Aww, the duplicates can't actually be accessed? They were this funny thing that came with the dump off wikia - multiple page ids to a single title, so to import them we renamed some of them to 'title (duplicate)' and... damn. Would have been funnier had they actually wound up accessible. Guess someone will have to look into those on the database end again. -— [[User:Lyrithya|Lyrithya]] [[User talk:Lyrithya|༆]] 21:36, 14 January 2013 (UTC)

::The "Video ######" rubbish seems to have been from a kaltura.org extension which Wikia installed in 2008, even though we never wanted it. There was a short-lived namespace created for these at one point. We never used it and these can be safely deleted. Articles starting with it: and eo: conflict with language prefixes (Italian, Esperanto). Italian was one of the early projects moved to a separate Wikia (these mostly fall between June 2005 with fr: as the first "other language" spinoff and April 2006 when languages with existing pages like pt: and zh-tw: started being moved from en:'s Babel: namespace to non-Wikia *.uncyclopedia.info domains instead of created as Wikia with incompatible licenses) and eo: was likely a little more recent. The articles with it: and eo: were likely created before these existed as seperate wikis (or at least before Wikia got around to creating the interwiki links). bg: is Bulgarian and was one of the more recent additions. Not sure what's up with the ones with (duplicate) in the titles? [[User:Carlb|Carlb]] ([[User talk:Carlb|talk]]) 16:27, 19 January 2013 (UTC)

:Fixed the broken interwikis; fixed the bg:, eo: and it: titles (I think) by having someone move them to my userspace; I also fixed the "* (duplicate)" titles in the database (their names were using spaces instead of underscores). {{Fakelink|Someone|It's always me, ain't it?}} should get on that. God, but I would love to close this bug report.{{User:Bizzeebeever/signature|20130503021550}}

:This site is its own site (not a mirror), and the last mass-imports from the old Wikia site were done in January. Taken from elsewhere:

<div style="padding:1em; margin:1em; background:#f8cccc;">I am having a strange problem. When I connect to [http://en.uncyclopedia.co Uncyclopedia's new home], the page loads very slowly and indefinitely. I tried diagnosing my problem with DownforEveryoneorJustMe and WhyDown and they both claim that the site has no problems.

I used the command promt and here's what I got at line 7:

7. * * * Request timed out

I can't be the only person in the world who is experiencing problems. Apparently the problem is on my end...?

Thanks for your help. {{User:PF4Eva/sig}} 01:21, February 13, 2013 (UTC)

:I've been having similar connectivity issues on my [[penis|end]]. It's intermittent, but the speed here and the speed at http://mirror.uncyc.org <!-- redact this if I you wish-->are not that dissimilar, and the lag appears to be more on the server side for both of those sites. {{User:Puppy/sig3|08:37 13 Feb}}

|header= external links leading to Wikia

|description=

*Various pages are hotlinking images from Wikia or contain clickable links to point to articles left behind on uncyclopedia.wikia.com. The {{tl|FA}} template does this and uses an absolute-position which places the image over the site name instead of behind the logo. Many signatures used <nowiki>[http://...uncyclopedia.../wiki/Pagename http://images.wikia.../a/ab/SomeImage.png] instead of [[Image:SomeImage.png|link=Pagename]]</nowiki> as the link= parameter didn't exist pre-MW1.14 or so. This may need a search-and-replace so that we are not linking to Wikia for any reason.

*:Fixed {{tl|FA}}, but you're right, there are a lot of pages with hard links. Working on a search-and-replace as we speak. Kinda.{{User:Bizzeebeever/signature|20130105115459}}

*::Ok, I believe it's done. There are still some hard-links that can be found via {{Querylink|Special:LinkSearch|qs=target=*.nocookie.net|this}} and {{Querylink|Special:LinkSearch|qs=target=images.wikia.com|this}} and {{Querylink|Special:LinkSearch|qs=target=uncyclopedia.wikia.com|this}}, but they consist of either intentional links to wikia, forum pages that cannot be changed because it would "bump" dead threads, or links to archived image versions which no longer exist. |header= Issues with page lengths

|description=

*[[Special:Shortpages]] is giving some odd results. [[UnBooks talk:The Old Man and LV]] shows up as 54 bytes, whereas I count at least 64. Editing the page (null edit) seems to have had no impact. There are other non-short short pages in that list as well. It seems to be pages that Aleister has created that are affected, so I blame his evil coding genius. {{User:PuppyOnTheRadio/sig3|10:46 06 Jan}}

*Reports such as [[special:wantedpages]] are not being generated. [[User:Carlb|Carlb]] ([[User talk:Carlb|talk]]) 21:12, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

*:Should just require <tt>$php updateSpecialPages.php</tt> being run, however we already have a few other maintenance scripts running, so its low priority until then. [[User:This Is Not Legoktm|This Is Not Legoktm]] ([[User talk:This Is Not Legoktm|talk]]) 01:34, 8 January 2013 (UTC)

*::That job is now running weekly, however this specific page is loaded dynamically. I didn't see anything wrong in the database, so its possible this is an upstream issue, though I doubt it. [[User:Legoktm|Legoktm]] ([[User talk:Legoktm|talk]]) 13:12, 26 February 2013 (UTC)

*:The issue on [[Special:Shortpages]] has been worked out. It seems {{U|Aleister}} saw red-linked talk pages for a few of his articles on Moving Day, and decided to recreate them. However, the namespaces hadn't yet been set up. So, when the namespaces were set up a few minutes later, those "recreated" pages became inaccessible, but were still hanging around in the database. I solved the issue by renaming them database-side and then deleting.

*:Also, the special pages which rely on cached data should be updating once a day, now.{{User:Bizzeebeever/signature|20130327012826}}

::"Okee dokee". Hmm... Sannse was sexier. :P ... I found some of them could be fixed by just editing the page once and saving it. Also... When you say "We know" how many of you are there? {{User:MrN9000/sig}} <small><small>00:09. Mar 17. 2013</small></small>

:::Well, if you don't like me saying "okee dokee", I can always get naked... and punch you in the throat.

:::As for how many mis-labelled redirects we have, well, judging from [[Special:BrokenRedirects|that page]], ...about 700 or so. It's a pretty simple issue to fix, in theory.{{User:Bizzeebeever/signature|20130317224349}}

::::Punch please. and not dokee, but donkey. ... I was not sure if it was something which could be fixed at the server side without the need to manually edit, or bot each page. I guess you are saying that it's not, so maybe I will have a go at fixing a few myself. I noticed that the page did not refresh after I "fixed" a few. Does the refresh happen at a fixed time or something? and.. also how come they all have <s>lines</s> through them? I figured that must be due to some server side issue. {{User:MrN9000/sig}} <small><small>22:58. Mar 17. 2013</small></small>

:::::It is some server-side issue. First off, the data that [[Special:BrokenRedirects]] uses is cached, so it may take a while after the issue is resolved for the page to clear out. Second of all, it should be easy to fix server-side, so there is probably no need to send a bot through and do null edits (as far as I know). In fact, that might make the issue harder to resolve. Hate to be so vague, but I personally dunno what the issue is for sure, so I'm just covering up the fact that I'm completely gormless with lots and lots of pointless words, because that's what they do over at W...The Site Which Shall Not Be Named, and it seems to mostly work for them.{{User:Bizzeebeever/signature|20130319001728}}
