DAY ONE! of my #5dayartchallenge. I’ve not only been doing art a long time but apparently I’ve been pretty thorough at saving pics of things. Today I start my challenge with some old 3d stuff.
Emily is one of many porcelain dolls I made and one of the few we didn’t give away. Doll making is a lovely hobby my wife and I shared. I would do the greenwork and painting then she would do the sewing and dress them. Most dolls have glass eyes but I took some extra courses to learn how to paint dolls eyes. I only gave up on the hobby because it gets quite expensive.
Next are some custom nutcrackers I made, using blanks from a craft store, I would saw down their heads and sculpt new pieces.
Lastly is a wall mask. I don’t entirely remember how I made these - I used various things to stiffen the fabric then seal and paint it. Of the several I did they were all given away or sold. Some have survived better than others.
