You cast your ballots, we have counted the votes, and the Class of 2013 is in. The annual Hall of Fame series features the best of best of 2013 as determined by the UM faithful. We’ve taken your top picks and turned them into a two-set show that encapsulates the essence of live UM: raw, energetic, and inspired. Heavy on improvisation and stylistically diverse, it is what you’ve come to expect from Umphrey’s McGee.
Nearly three hours of music have been meticulously stitched together to deliver you a new listening experience. This year’s offering features classic UM staples alongside two stand out covers (of Beck and moe.) as well as appearances by Joshua Redman and Mad Dog’s Filthy Little Secret Horns. Hall of Fame: Class of 2013 is available in a smattering of digital formats, from high resolution 24-bit ALAC to MP3. We will also be pressing a double 180-gram splattered LP set for you audiophiles and collectors. The vinyl set includes an MP3 download of the entire album.
In addition, this year’s class features a new option for the UM core, one guaranteed to turn heads. We are pleased to present umGOLD, the finest commemorative piece we’ve ever offered, celebrating the Hall of Fame: Class of 2013 going gold (margin of error +/- 499,000 copies). Housed inside a beautifully crafted wood shadow box, each gold record is customized with the name of your choosing indicating your “Associate Producer” status. The 16- by 20-inch frame also features the album art, Hall of Fame hologram logo, and personalized etched gold plaque, as well as the double LP vinyl set and digital download. Pre-order begins today and digital delivery of the Hall of Fame: Class of 2013 commences Tuesday, September 23rd. Vinyl and umGOLD has gone to the presses and will ship in early November, but all orders will receive their download on the 23rd.
