Last Thursday, October 13, Ultra was invited to attend the Infor Manufacturing Partner Summit at their global headquarters in New York City. Ultra was represented by two partners in the firm and one of our vendor analysts. These sessions proved to be a great opportunity to learn about the future direction of Infor. Speakers from the company included President, Stephan Scholl, and EVP of Global Manufacturing and Distribution, John Flavin, as well as top product leaders.

Infor By the Numbers

At the Infor Manufacturing Partner Summit, we were provided with some basic information about the company. Infor is an enterprise software vendor with 90,000 mid-market to large enterprise customers in a variety of industries. Approximately half of their customers fall within manufacturing and distribution. More than 7,000 of Infor’s customers use their cloud ERP product and access it from over 100 different countries. At the conference, Infor continued to push home the company’s major themes:

Industry specialization

Design for end users

Science via predictive analytics

Internet via cloud offerings

Networks with commerce in the cloud

Top Stories of the Infor Manufacturing Partner Summit: Infor Solutions Beyond ERP

Outside of receiving an update on Infor’s ERP products, we learned that Infor offers many top-tier solutions that extend beyond ERP. These include:

Supply Chain & Global Commerce: With the acquisition of GT Nexus, Infor’s solutions allow for cloud-based communication and coordination between partners.

EAM: EAM, Infor’s asset management solution, is a market leader who continues to win new customers both within and outside of Infor’s existing ERP customer base.

Customer Experience Suite (CX): This offering is compiled of a group of multiple applications, including CRM, CPQ, CLM and MRM. All give the sales and marketing organizations leading edge solutions with high value business results via analytics.

HCM and Workforce Management: Infor’s HCM and workforce management solutions come with a complete suite of products, which many other vendors do not offer.

PLM Tools: These tools are a great complement to Infor’s ERP solution, and demonstrate how document management and the need for compliance with government regulations are possible with their toolset, removing the need for additional document management software.

In conclusion, Infor is one of the four largest ERP vendors in the world. They are growing faster than most of the other ERP providers in their realm. Their product focus on industry-specific ERP, but the fact that the company is now wrapping those ERP capabilities into suites with additional best-of-breed solutions makes Infor a true force in the market.
