In their Centennial year Uckfield Lions are holding a FREE prostate screening day in association with PCaSO-the Prostate Cancer Support Organization.
This will take place in the Belmont Centre, Belmont Road, Uckfield,TN22 1BP on 1st April 2017 from 10 am to 2pm by appointment.
The screening will be done by qualified phlebotomists and will be analysed at a hospital.
The results will be overseen by a Consultant Urologist and will be returned to the patient in about a fortnight.
Advice will be given to the patient appropriately using a red, amber, green traffic light system and in certain situations patients will be encouraged to visit their medical practice for further advice.
As the PSA test is not specific for Prostate Cancer it is not always widely used in medical practices. Therefore Lions and PCaSO are pleased to offer this service to men conducted using the highest clinical standards.
