London, UK, Tuesday 10th November 2015 – National charity, Dementia UK, today launched a new look and website and reaffirmed its commitment to providing much needed specialist support and advice to families facing dementia.

To coincide with the charity’s 25th anniversary of Admiral Nursing – specialist dementia nursing for the whole family – Dementia UK have unveiled a redesigned logo, visuals and website to more accurately reflect the caring and supportive work that the charity is engaged in. This work has been undertaken in consultation with families, supporters, staff and Admiral Nurses.

Martin Bishop, Director of Fundraising and Communications at Dementia UK said:

“Our new logo provides a much more distinctive look for the charity. The central idea behind it is ‘Working Together’ – reflecting that our Admiral Nurses work hand-in-hand with families. This is represented by the interlocking design of magenta and teal, which also highlights our professionalism and care.

The ultimate goal of our new look and new website is to reach and support many more families facing dementia.”

Natasha Delliston, Senior Brand Planner at Arthur London, the design agency who led Dementia UK’s brand refresh, said:

“It’s a bold, strong identity that really strikes at the truth of who Dementia UK are and the astonishing work they do day in, day out, all over the UK.”

Admiral Nurses provide the compassionate, expert support families need to live more positively with dementia in the present; and to face the challenges of tomorrow with more confidence, and less fear.

This is reflected in the new strapline, “Helping families face dementia”, which emphasises that families are at the heart of what the charity does.

Hilda Hayo, Chief Executive and Chief Admiral Nurse at Dementia UK said:

“I am so excited to be leading the charity through such a time of positive change.

The dedication, passion and commitment that our Admiral Nurses display, every day, fills me with such pride.

We’ve seen a 40% increase in the number of Admiral Nurses in the last two years and we will aim to have 200 Admiral Nurses in place across the UK by the end of 2016. And we’re not going to stop there. We believe passionately that everyone who needs the support of an Admiral Nurse should have one.

Our new look, new website and new information and support materials reflect this drive to support more families affected by dementia.”

To mark the launch of Dementia UK’s brand refresh, the charity has commissioned a new video to illustrate how Jody, an Admiral Nurse, supports a family living with young onset dementia. This powerful new video can be viewed here: https://vimeo.com/144857948
