Watch Netflix in Ubuntu today
Canonical announce that due to recent work with Netflix, Ubuntu now supports watching Netflix with Chrome version 37, which is available to all Ubuntu users with up-to-date installations of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, 14.04 LTS and later. They advise that Netflix gives Ubuntu users the ability to watch TV shows and movies from many devices and invite their readers to "Head over to Netflix to start your free trial subscription today."

Forums Council: Happy Birthday Ubuntu Forums & Support for Other Operating Systems
The Forums Council write that the Ubuntu Forums have changed several times since Ryan Troy started them ten years ago. The Council advise of changes around the use of custom avatars, the introduction of a new forum section for selected operating systems, and thank almost two million users for participating in over two million threads.

Nekhelesh Ramananthan: Clock App Reboot Backstory
Nekhelesh Ramananthan recalls the events around the rebooting of the Clock app which he learned about at the Malta sprint. Canonical writes "Network Functions Virtualisation (NFV) and Software-Defined Networking (SDN) are two of the hottest infrastructure technologies around, particularly for telecoms and network operators wanting to map their services in a more efficient, scalable, and cost-effective way." Zabbix joins Canonical's Charm Partner Programme
Canonical announces that Zabbix SA is the newest member of the Charm Partner Programme which lets solution providers make best use of Canonical's cloud orchestration tool, Juju. The article gives some background details about Zabbix, and provides a link to further information about the programme.

Ubuntu with Redis Labs, Altera and IBM Power supply new NoSQL data store solution
John Zannos writes that earlier this month IBM announced new Power S824L servers which are built on the POWER8 processor, the world's first processor optimised for the most demanding Big Data workloads. He says that powering each of these servers in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, the only operating system ready to every class of Linux-only POWER8 scale-out server.

Sleek Mini-ITX industrial PCs come in four Intel flavors
Eric Brown of LinuxGizmos.com writes about Logic Supply's new line of ML400G embedded PCs which are the "smallest full-size Mini-ITX systems" ever built by the company. Eric looks at the specifications of each model and informs us that they all support both 32 and 64-bit versions of Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

Canonical Offers OpenStack and Ubuntu Cloud Training in Paris
Christopher Tozzi, The VAR Guy, writes that Canonical is introducing a five day OpenStack cloud computing program, of which the first session will take place during the week of October 27-31 in Paris where the next OpenStack Summit will take place the week after. Christopher notes that 55% of all OpenStack instances run on Ubuntu and speculates that the training is also part of the effort to fortify Ubuntu's position within the cloud computing ecosystem.
