Jono Bacon: Goodbye Canonical, Hello XPRIZE
Jono Bacon announces his departure from Canonical coming up on May 29th in order to pursue an exciting opportunity with XPRIZE. Jono stresses that he is not leaving over any issues with Ubuntu or the community and that "the relationship with community at Canonical has not changed at all." He concludes by saying that he will be doing his last Q&A session on Tuesday 27th May 2014 at 6pm UTC on Ubuntu On Air.

Michael Hall: App Developer Sprint
Michael Hall writes about the work completed this past week at an App Developer Sprint in Malta, where he says many people attending, including "designers, SDK developers, QA folks and, which excited me the most, several of the Core Apps developers from our community!" Michael shares that the event was a lot of work for everyone involved and says: "I was particularly pleased to see the community guys jumping right in and thriving in what could have very easily been an overwhelming event. Not only did they all accomplish a lot of work, fix a lot of bugs, and implement some new features, but they also gave invaluable feedback to the developers of the toolkit and tools. They never cease to amaze me with their talent and commitment."

Svetlana Belkin: Ubuntu Scientists Team Update: May 23, 2014
Svetlana Belkin reports on the results from the first Ubuntu Scientists meeting which occurred on May 23rd. The small team has so far been able to make plans for monthly meetings, put thought into might do a vUDS 14.06 track, working on some of the goals defined on the wiki and plans for what pages should be added to their team pages.

Lubuntu Blog: LXQt-Admin: System admin tools for LXQt arrived
Rafael Laguna reports on the Lubuntu Blog that a new component, lxqt-admin has landed in the team's git repository. He shows us a couple of screenshots of the tools and says "We know that LXQt is not good enough, but it will getting better and better."

Ubuntu Women: Phase 2 of ProjectHarvest
Svetlana Belkin advises that the Ubuntu Women team has decided that Project Harvest will be restarted, and is now at Phase 2. She says they are now looking for Python developers, provides links for further information, and an e-mail address to register interest.
