Japanese food must contain some sort of magic ingredient because anything you eat tastes amazing.

In case you ever visit Japan, here are some suggestions. Try not to drool too much ;]

Kobe beef
If you haven’t heard, Kobe is known for its beef. Just take a stroll down a street in Sannomiya–a bustling, energetic place within Kobe–and enter one of its many Kobe beef restaurants. Kobe beef is definitely pricey, but make an occasion out of it! When will you be in Kobe again to try their beef? You usually order the meat as a set meaning you can add rice, soup, and salad to your meal. The more expensive cuts of the beef literally melt in your mouth.



Kaiten zushi
What is the one thing that Japan is known for? Sushi! Kaiten zushi means “rotation sushi” but it’s more commonly called “conveyor belt sushi”. There are plates of sushi going around the belt and you grab whichever one you want. You can also use their electronic menus and choose which items you’d like, which get delivered to you by the belt. There are also noodles, fried chicken, french fries, and desserts. Each plate is only around two dollars; most of us left extremely full and only spent eight dollars.

Bikkuri Donkey
This place specializes in delicious hamburg steaks. They can be cheesy, stuffed with mushrooms, and come with french fries. Doesn’t that sound glorious?



Yakiniku
Pieces of meat that are skewered onto a thin stick are grilled just right. Hence the name yakiniku, which means “grilled meat”. You won’t regret trying this dish out as you take a nice juicy bite. One other item they cook (and our favorite) with the yakiniku is mochi, a type of rice cake. They wrap it in a bacon-like meat and grill it. We love this so much we may attempt to make it at home.
