Goo Goo Dolls was recently on the road in support of their 10th studio album, “Magnetic,” released earlier this year. The Buffalo, N.Y. trio, singer guitarist John Rzeznik, bassist Robby Takac, and drummer Mike Malinin, recorded “Magnetic” with Gregg Wattenberg (Train), Rob Cavallo (Green Day), John Shanks (Bon Jovi), and Greg Wells (Katy Perry).

During their performance at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Conn. on August 13, 2013, the sound was great and the band mixed their fifteen-song setlist with a lot of familiar hits like “Name” and “Iris” and newer tracks including the uptempo “Rebel Beat.” Midway through the set Rzeznik said to the crowd “You know what time it is? Time for a new song,” just before slowing things down a bit with their new Americana infused love song, “Come to Me.”

The band had terrific onstage presence. Bassist Robby Takac was full of kinetic energy while working both sides of the stage. They had everyone in the audience cheering and having a good time. After more than two decades together as a band, the Goo Goo Dolls show no signs of slowing down.

Additional touring members included Brad Fernquist; guitar and mandolin, and Korel Tunador; keyboards, guitar, saxophone.
