PRODUCTION BEGINS ON STARZ AND SONY PICTURES TELEVISION

’S “OUTLANDER



STARZ and Outlander executive producer Ronald D. Moore (Caprica, Helix) announced today that production on the new series has commenced. The new series is based on author Diana Gabaldon’s best-selling novels and is being brought to cable television by STARZ and Sony Pictures Television. The series is currently filming on location in Scotland and will air on the cable network in 2014. Diana Gabaldon’s series about a woman named Claire Randall who is transported 250 years through time and falls in love with a young Scots warrior named James Fraser has sold over 20 million copies world-wide. The series currently boasts seven books to date and the eighth book, Written in My Own Heart’s Blood, is scheduled to be released on March 25, 2014. The popular book series also spawned a spin-off mystery series featuring one of its secondary characters, Lord John Grey.
