Every woman dreams of having long and glossy tresses of hair that adds to her beauty. Even men desire of having a pate complete with thick and lustrous mane. Men and women down the ages have resorted to both simple and inventive ways for sporting a crown full of lustrous hair and also for boosting hair growth. It does not need to be stressed that having thick and long hair enhances   one’s personality and appeal.

However, one has to take proper care of his or her hair not only for keeping hair fall or loss at bay but also for retaining its lustrousness and stimulating its growth. But keeping one hair perfect in the present times can be a tall order. Most of us are constantly exposed to the hazards of environmental pollution that has an adverse effect on our crop of hair. The chemicals and toxins present in the atmosphere get deposited in our hair and damages the roots and follicles.

Furthermore, erratic lifestyles, poor nutrition, imbalanced diets, flagrant use of haircare products, and unsuitable hairstyles all coalesce to interfere with the natural growth process of hair leading to hair loss. You’d need to pamper your hair a lot by supplying it with the all the vital and essential nutrients if you’re sincere about sustaining its glossiness and suppleness.

What You Eat Can Affect Your Hair Growth

You can get your full supply of nutrients from your daily food intake. For a regular and uninterrupted supply of a range of vitamins and minerals, you’d need to supplement with your diet with foods containing high doses of proteins and vitamins. Therefore consume fish, eggs, lean meats, dairy products, fresh and leafy green vegetables, whole grains, eggs, nuts, and so on.

Gorge on different kinds of fruits and refrain from fatty and oily foods. Drink at least eight glasses of water everyday for ridding your body of toxins. Water also helps in keeping your hair silky and maintaining its original texture.

Exercising regularly and sleeping soundly for eight hours are also highly recommended. Besides espousing healthy practices like massaging your scalp with natural oils and washing hair regularly with a mild shampoo or hair conditioner, you can make good use of numerous home remedies for hair growth. Going for a clinical treatment once in a while for boosting up hair growth may be perfectly all right.

However, going for such treatment procedures occasionally may not only put your finances under strain but might not be beneficial for your hair as well from the standpoint of their wellbeing. The following home remedies not only have minimal side effects but are cost effective and convenient to follow as well. You just have to be persistent in applying them.

It also contains several vitamins and minerals like vitamins A, B, D, and E, and iron, zinc, calcium, potassium, magnesium, and phosphorus. Proteins are influential in fostering growth of new hair.

Separate the albumen (the white of the egg) from the egg and add honey and olive well to it (1 tablespoon each). Apply the concoction evenly throughout your pate and let it be there for 20-25 minutes. Wash off with cold, running water and cleanse with a mild conditioning shampoo.

Onion Extract

These pungent and bulbous vegetables have been used for centuries as a natural remedy for tackling hair fall and also for advancing hair growth. The best thing about using onions for effectively checking hair fall and heightening growth of new hair is that they are completely safe. There are no side effects as the extract or juice does not contain any chemicals or compounds that are toxic or harmful.

The high sulphur content of onions helps in hair growth by stimulating blood circulation. The juice of onion encourages the manufacture of collagen tissues that helps in the development of new hair and makes them healthier and stronger. Onion extract also aids in opening up the stomas or pores of hair follicles and prevents infections in the scalp region.

The easiest way of using onions for augmenting your hair growth would be to grind some in your mixer grinder and applying the juice or extract over the scalp. Let the application be there for at least half an hour or for a longer period if you so wish. Clear your hair of the paste by running cold water through it and thereafter take a bath using a mild shampoo.

For best results, use the extract of onion for at least three times in a week. You’ll feel the difference in the span of two months. If the pungency of onions is too much for you, then you can mix the extract with honey and massage the mixture over your hair. For a perfect blend, add two to three tablespoons of honey to a quarter cup of onion juice.

You’d need to soak three to four tablespoons of these seeds overnight and make a good paste out of it. Apply the same to your hair and let it stay like that for an hour or so before washing it off scrupulously with water that is lukewarm. If you apply the paste of fenugreek seeds regularly, you’ll be able to check dandruff and scalp infections.

Coconut Milk And Oil

Coconut is abundant in proteins, vitamins, and minerals. Coconut practically contains all the nutrients that are essential for checking hair breakage or hair shedding. Alternatively, you can massage your entire scalp with coconut oil if you want to have thick hair and retain its natural texture. Slightly warm the coconut oil and massage your scalp region with your finger tips.

Running your finger tips in a circular fashion helps in improving circulation of blood. Thereafter cover your head with a towel that has been soaked in warm water. Let the wrap remain for some time (at least 25-30 minutes) and then shampoo off your hair. Stick with this remedy at least once weekly for excellent results.

Black Pepper

Black pepper has long been used in Ayurvedic medicinal preparations as an effectual remedy for putting off hair loss and encouraging growth of hair. Prepare a concoction by mixing two tablespoon of blended peppercorns with a half cup of fresh lime juice. After making a good paste apply the same over your hair and wrap your head with a tepid warm towel to allow the paste to penetrate deeply. Clean and wash your hair after 30-35 minutes.
