The American Advertising Federation Tuscaloosa recently presented awards for the top local advertising in a variety of categories during its annual American Advertising Awards presentation.

Chris Powell, advertising manager for The Tuscaloosa News, was named Ad Person of the Year. Powell was recognized for his leadership on the board and for organizing a fundraising golf tournament.

Easty Lambert-Brown, owner of Borgo Publishing, received the Silver Medal, the highest honor bestowed by AAF Tuscaloosa. The winner must be known as a person of integrity within their company and community and have been active in organizations dedicated to some phase of human or social welfare. Lambert-Brown, a book designer and publisher, served as AAF Tuscaloosa president in 2008, was named Ad Person of the Year in 2007 and is a member of the Tuscaloosa Planning and Zoning Commission.

Special awards went to:
