For sale: 2004 Dodge SRT4 race car. This is a FACTORY BUILT CAR, 1 of 3, built from a body-in-white shell by SRT and Dodge Motorsports in Detroit. THIS CAR HAS NO VIN AND NO TITLE. It was built for SCCA Touring2 (T2) class road racing. T2 is a production based class, so minimal mods were allowed. However, as with most forms of spec racing, the rules are always bent a little. This car has many parts that were not stock, things that are made to look stock, and 1-off parts. The long block, turbo, and transmission are pretty much stock production pieces. It has the S2/S3 injectors, and S2/S3 3-bar MAP/TIP sensors. The PCM is a custom calibration done by them, running 21psi and runs on 100+ octane race fuel only (with a programmer the calibration could be toned down for pump gas). 2.5” mandrel bent stainless exhaust. Large FMIC with tubular crash bar. It has custom valved Suspension Dynamics struts with extremely high rate Mopar race-only springs. Big sway bars. Wilwood big brake kit on the front, with cooling ducts from the fog light holes in the fascia. Comp SSR wheels, 17x7.5. Viper Comp Coupe (Racetech) kevlar drivers seat, schroth 6-point harness. Full roll cage w/ Nascar style door bars. Being a body-in-white car, it is very light (no undercoating or sound deadening). The engine harness was left stock, but the body and dash harnesses were both trimmed to remove the wiring and plugs for equipment that is not there (for example, the wiring for the radio, antenna, rear defrost, trunk pop, power locks, mirrors, windows, etc, was all trimmed from the harness). Dodge Motorsports went to extreme lengths to make this car as light as possible. This was also built as a factory A/C-delete car. I had the car on a certified scale at Summit Raceway Park in Norwalk and it weighed 2675 exactly how it sits, with a full tank of gas and a leather Viper pass seat. The car has provisions for a pass seat, but there is currently no passseat installed.

The 3 cars were built over the winter of 03/04. Of the 3, 2 were painted white/black/blue and given the Mopar theme, one was painted white/black/red, and was given the Dodge theme. This is the Dodge car, so it is the only one built in this color configuration. It was raced in SCCA T2 for the 2004 season along with it’s teammate Mopar car. They ran 11 races around the central part of the US. In those 11 events, this car won twice and finished on the podium 6 times. Other cars in SCCA T2 at the time included, Cadillac CTS-V, Chevrolet Camaro Z28, Pontiac Firebird, Nissan 350Z, Ford Mustang GT and Mustang Cobra N/A, Saturn Ion Redline, BMW M3 Coupe, Honda S2000, Mazda RX8, and Porsche Boxster. This car and it’s Mopar teammate were featured on the cover on SportsCar magazine in Aug of ’04. There are also several pictures of them in the article, which talks about the new turbocharged 4cyl cars running with, and often beating, the big V8 muscle.

After the 2004 season, the factory T2 race program was cancelled. In early 2005 the car was used for research and development, testing a number of parts that would eventually be offered to qualified racers by Dodge Motorsports. It was also used for thrill rides (at certain events, members of the SRT staff would take people for rides on track).

After that, the car sat at the Belvidere plant for a couple years, and was eventually sold to Stan Wilson around 2008. Stan removed the original graphics, applied his sponsor logos, and raced the car for about a year in SCCA World Challenge Touring Car (TC). That was the last time it was raced professionally. Since then, the car has been pretty much unchanged.

This would be an awesome car for track days, autox, or HPDE events. It’s pretty much ready to go, but will need fresh tires, and a good once-over (fluid changes, bleed brakes, alignment, etc).

Asking $12,500 or B/O. (it would cost double that to build it, and it wouldn’t have the history/pedigree this car does). Comes with the SCCA log book, and a copy of the Aug 04 SportsCar mag with this car on the cover.

The picts with the Alliance1 graphics are how it looks now. The picts with the Dodge theme is how it looked when Dodge owned the car.
