Tune Collective - Defining Music & Culture

For the past week, news stories have been released discussing Passion Pit’s frontman Michael Angelakos’ new artist-centric start up an establishment. Angelakos’ New York-based company, the Wishart Group, has generated quite a stimulating buzz in the music community for its intention to provide artists with direct assistance in a myriad of needs that aren’t covered under most record label contracts. Although the Wishart Group services include support in legal and educational issues, Angelakos, diagnosed at age 17 with bipolar disorder, has intended for the primary focus of the group to be centered on mental health issues. To date, the company has received $250 million in funding from various music and tech contributors.

Hopefully, in the not too distant future, the Wishart Group’s impact and influence on artists will be able to be measured and success stories will begin to be released to the public.

Passion Pit has maintained a relatively low profile since its latest LP Kindred in 2015, with 2016 ending with Angelakos’ release of Merry Christmas, Mr. Fields, a video album and soundtrack.  Passion Pit has attached three new songs to accompany the announcement of the Wishart Group.

“Inner Dialogues”

“Somewhere Up There”

“I’m Perfect”
