Former Broome County Family Court Judge Peter Charnetsky, Esq. Joins Tully Rinckey PLLC

Charnetsky’s addition expands the firm’s Family and Matrimonial Law Team to the Southern Tier

June 2, 2015 – Binghamton, N.Y. – Tully Rinckey PLLC is pleased to announce that former Broome County Family Court Judge and Acting New York State Supreme Court Justice Peter P. Charnetsky, Esq. has joined the upstate-wide, full service law firm. Mr. Charnetsky is now Tully Rinckey PLLC’s Binghamton managing partner, providing family and matrimonial law, criminal defense, estate planning, and real estate law services to clients throughout the Binghamton area. His addition to the firm expands Tully Rinckey PLLC’s Family and Matrimonial Law Team to the Southern Tier, priming the practice group for exponential growth throughout New York State and beyond.

Mr. Charnetsky’s addition to the firm is of immense benefit to Binghamton residents seeking highly experienced family and matrimonial law services. His experience on the bench allows him to approach complex divorce and family law cases with knowledge of the court system that most other attorneys simply lack. With nine years of experience as an Acting Supreme Court Justice and a decade of experience as a Broome County Family Court Judge, he is able to use his unique perspective and courtroom knowledge for the benefit of his clients, providing them with the best chance of success in their legal matter.

“After spending ten years deciding thousands of cases from the bench, I intimately understand the courtroom process that affects the outcomes of divorce and family law matters, among a range of others,” said Mr. Charnetsky. “At Tully Rinckey PLLC, I will employ this comprehensive knowledge of the courtroom to develop customized case strategies for the firm’s clients. Simply put, my judicial courtroom experience and knowledge is now on the client’s side of the argument.”

During his judicial career, Mr. Charnetsky resolved over 25,000 cases, and the Broome County Bar Association and Independent Judicial Election Qualification Commission both rated him as “highly qualified.” Serving as a Broome County Family Court Judge from 2005 to 2014, he heard cases involving visitation, child support and neglect, adoption, and persons in need of supervision (PINS), among others. Presiding over Integrated Domestic Violence Court for all Broome County courts from 2006 to 2014, he routinely heard cases involving no-fault divorces, contested divorces, and family offense petitions, among others. Mr. Charnetsky earned his juris doctor from Stestson University College of Law.

For the past six years, Inc. magazine has named Tully Rinckey PLLC one of America’s fastest-growing private companies.
