Boosting the country’s luxury portfolio, two brand new Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas-branded resorts are scheduled to inaugurate in Oman in mid-2016.
The first will be the Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort in the north east of Oman and the second, Al Baleed Resort – Salalah by Anantara in the southern province of Dhofar.
Chief operating officer, Minor Hotel Group, Robert Kunkler remarked: “The opening of not one but two Anantara Resorts in the Sultanate of Oman in mid-2016 is a huge milestone for the brand and reflects our rapid growth in the region.

Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar, located 2,000m above sea level, will be the highest five-star resort in the Middle East. Reflecting traditional Omani architecture and heritage, entwined with luxury experiences, the resort is home to 82 Premier and Deluxe rooms with private balconies or terraces. Adding to this, 33 one-, two- or three-bedroom villas will also be on offer, complete with private swimming pools, separate living spaces and personal butler services.
The Al Baleed Resort – Salalah by Anantara, conveniently located only 10 km from the city centre and 15km from the airport, mirrors Dhofar’s heritage and the region’s iconic coastal fortresses. The property is home to lush tropical gardens, walkways surrounded by palms and water features, all of which set the relaxing atmosphere of the resort.
The resort features 40 Premier and Deluxe Rooms, all complemented by views of the Arabian Sea, lagoon or picturesque gardens, as well as 88 one-, two- and three- bedroom villas with private pools, spacious living areas and personal butler services.
Both of the high-end resorts will offer a wide range of F&B opportunities and facilities, including the world-renowned Anantara Spa.
