Hotel Royal Savoy Lausanne in Switzerland officially opened its doors last month with a grand celebration, following a remodelling project that restored the hotel to its charming historic aesthetic.

The property’s general manager, Alain Kropf enthused: “After a long period of development and construction, we are very proud to re-open the legendary Hotel Royal Savoy Lausanne, which has been magnificently renovated and repositioned to a five-star property.”

Forming a significant part of Katara Hospitality’s mission to preserve the heritage of iconic hotels spanning the globe, Hotel Royal Savoy Lausanne, which stands in the centre of the city of Lausanne, underwent an extensive, multimillion dollar redesign.

The hotel is the second to open under The Bürgenstock Selection, a collection of luxurious hotels which fall under Murwab Hotel Group – the standalone operating arm of Katara Hospitality which manages an international collection of boutique upscale hotels and brands offering contemporary hospitality steeped in cultural heritage.

The upscale hotel is home to 196 rooms and suites; the Sky Terrace – offering panoramic views of the city of Lausanne, Lake Geneva and the Alps; fine in-house F&B establishments complete with the gastronomic delights of Michelin-starred chef Marc Haeberlin; fully functional meetings and events facilities; and much more.

CEO, Katara Hospitality, Hamad Abdulla Al-Mulla declared: “The legendary Hotel Royal Savoy Lausanne epitomises the opulence and impeccable service standards characteristic of Swiss hospitality. It is Katara Hospitality’s distinguished pleasure to unveil a beautifully restored historical building and luxury hotel, which adds to the cosmopolitan allure of the city of Lausanne, while appealing to the tastes of our esteemed guests.”
