A grant from Duke Energy of $248,088 will buy a sophisticated mechatronics system for use by students at Forsyth Technical Community College, according to an announcement from the school.

The mechatronics learning system integrates mechanical, electrical, electronic and computerized control systems of the kinds used on modern flexible manufacturing lines. It’s a form of training that area employers have been asking for, said Gary Green, Forsyth Tech’s president.
