Sometimes you just need to pack up and get out of town. Fortunately for us, this great nation of ours is home to some pretty amazing travel destinations. Spending your next vacation on American soil does not mean sacrificing stunning scenery or opportunities for adventure. The following are just a handful of breathtaking spots, located right here in the United States, to add to your getaway list.

Mackinac Island, Michigan



Minutes away from the Canadian border, this Northern Michigan island is one of a kind; the word “unique” doesn’t do it justice. There are no cars allowed, so pack your walking shoes. Bikes, horses, and fudge are the language of Mackinac. Enjoy lunch and a tour of The Grand Hotel, built in 1887. A truly magnificent place to behold, you won’t leave disappointed.

Nashville, Tennessee



Music City, USA has been the recipient of plenty of free and positive press in recent years. The “home of country music” bursts with small city charm and hospitality. The perfect pick for a long weekend away, Nashville is home to a booming restaurant scene and countless lively honky tonks.

Outer Banks, North Carolina



If it’s the ocean that is calling your name, you can’t go wrong visiting any, or all, of the beaches that make up the Outer Banks of North Carolina. With their glistening shores and breathtaking terrain, you’ll never want to return home. Enjoy a sport fishing trip or watch the wild horses roam across Ocracoke Island.

Austin, Texas

If it’s a city getaway you’re looking for, Austin is sure to impress. Home to the capital of the lonestar state, Austin has it all: food, music, and entertainment galore. Boston, Massachusetts

Moving much further up the map, the city of Boston boasts centuries of rich history and a wide array of exciting activities. New England’s largest city feels much smaller when you visit. San Francisco, California

Rounding out the list is California’s most beautiful city, San Francisco. The historic “city by the bay” offers all the culture you’d expect from a world class destination, plus some of the most beautiful views this country has to offer.
