The Ontario Home Builders' Association has named its Awards of Distinction winners for 2013. The judges considered hundreds of entrants in 34 categories.
The Prestige Award winners are:
Ontario Home Builder of the Year: Reid's Heritage Homes, Cambridge
Project of the Year, Low-Rise: Great Gulf Homes for King Oaks, York Region
Project of the Year, High or Mid-Rise: MOD Developments for The Massey Tower, Toronto
In addition to marketing categories for Project Image & Advertising and On-Site Sales Presentation, categories included Architectural Design, Home Renovation, and Room Design.
The Architectural Design winners were:
Most Outstanding Production Built Home (one storey up to 1,900 sq. ft.) went to Rinaldi Homes (Niagara) for Winterbury III, Welland.
Most Outstanding Production-Built Home (one storey 1,901 sq. ft. and over) went to Geranium Corp. for Forest Trail Estates' The Alderley, Whitchurch-Stouffville.
Most Outstanding Production-Built Home (two storeys up to 2,500 sq. ft.) went to Eastforest Homes for Baden Country Estates, Wentworth II, Baden
Most Outstanding Production-Built Home (two storeys 2,501 sq. ft. and over) went to Great Gulf Homes for King Oaks, The Ascot, York Region.
Most Outstanding Custom Home (under 2,500 sq. ft.) went to DeSousa Homes for Garrard in Whitby.
Most Outstanding Custom Home (2,501 sq. ft. to 5,000 sq. ft.) went to David Small Designs for David's House, Mississauga.
Most Outstanding Custom Home (5,001 sq. ft. and over) went to Timberland General Contractors for Windemere Manor, Amherstberg.
Most Outstanding Custom Attached Multi-Unit Home (semi/town/stacked) went to The Minto Group for Orchard Park's Juniper, Stouffville.
Most Outstanding Mid-Rise Building (4 to 10 storeys) went to Rosehaven Homes for The Randall Residences, Oakville
Most Outstanding High-Rise Building (11+ storeys) went to MOD Developments for The Massey Tower, Toronto
Most Outstanding High- or Mid-Rise Condo Suite (up to 800 sq. ft.) went to Reserve Properties' 109OZ, Loft 402, Toronto.
Most Outstanding High- or Mid-Rise Condo Suite (801 sq. ft. and over) went to Rosehaven Homes for The Randall Residences' The Tetherington, Oakville.
The Home Renovation winners are:
Most Outstanding Home Renovation (Client Cost up to $100,000) went to OakWood Renovation Experts for Lapner Kitchen, Ottawa.
Most Outstanding Home Renovation (Client Cost $100,001 to $500,000) went to Windrush Hill Construction for Next Generation, St. Catharines.
Most Outstanding Home Renovation (Client Cost over $500,001) went to Prycon Custom Building and Renovations for Contemporary Renovation, Oro.
Most Outstanding Kitchen Renovation went to W.C. Meek Design and Construction for Snow Kitchen, Toronto.
Most Outstanding Bathroom Renovation went to Eurodale Developments for Bathing Ritual, Toronto.
The Room Design winners are:
Most Outstanding New Home Kitchen went to David Small Designs for David's House, Mississauga.
Most Outstanding High or Mid-Rise Condo Suite Kitchen went to Monarch Corp./The Goldman Group for Picasso on Richmond, Toronto, with Union 31.
Most Outstanding New Home Bathroom went to David Small Designs for David's House, Mississauga.
