Angkor Temples, Cambodia - Siem Reap, Cambodia

Siem Reap, Cambodia

Hello all. Well sorry for the delay in posting to this new blog, it's been hanging over my head for the last week. This blog thing sounds like a good idea until you have to find time to write about where you are and what you're up instead of just being here:-). Enough complaining... I still haven't figured out how to get any of my pictures posted but bear with me and hopefully things will get better. Unfortunately, I have some great pics but this is all I can get for now?? First stop..Cambodia. The town is called Siem Reap( pronounced "see 'em reep"). Oh, I forgot, it was 13 hour flight from LA to Seoul, South Korea and then another 5 hours to Cambodia. Why here? Well this, is where in early 1900 the French discovered hidden in the jungle the ancient temples of Angkor Wat. A UNESCO World Heritage site about 1000 years old where the kings of the Far East built these extraordinary temples and cities within them. Over the years they have been restored. Cambodia has been ravaged by war and poverty for many years. Like much of Asia they are struggling to find a balance between the new civilization and the old. Hopefully, some of these pictures will give you an insight into the place and it's people. Once I figure out how to get them from my iPhone...sorry.
