Memorial Day Weekend - Albuquerque, NM

Albuquerque, NM

Where I stayed

American RV Resort

We arrived at the American RV Resort for the Memorial Day Weekend. A pretty park, well kept with friendly people and they had a continental breakfast every morning. That was a first! We heard from many folks about Old Town so we spent one day walking the old streets. We even had to travel on Route 66 to get there. The stores had once been residences and it was fascinating to see how they had lived. We lunched at the Church Street Cafe and loved the old adobe building and decor. In the middle of the town was the oldest Church in Albuquerque ~ the beautiful San Felipe de Neri. Another day, we went to the Petroglyph National Monument and hiked the trails. We drove to look at the remains of the three Volcanos that formed the basin of Albuquerque and to the foot hills of the Sandia Mountain and visited the casino. We enjoyed driving the beautiful streets and seeing the different styles of homes. The gear shifter on my bike broke and could not be fixed so I had to buy a new bike. What fun finding the right one! The four days here went quickly.
