Buy One, Get One - Granada, Spain

Granada, Spain

It's hard to pass up a BOGO deal, and when it involves getting free tapas with the purchase of a glass of sangria, you can count me in! My first night out in Granada only cost 8€ and I went home with a belly full of tapas and sangria.

That alone is enough reason to visit Granada (in fact, when I was in Sevilla, it was the m ain selling point to get people to head to Granada instead of Malaga), but wait there's more...

THE ALHAMBRA!!

Alhambra is a palace and fortress complex rising high above the streets of Granada. It was originally constructed as a fortress in 889 and later converted into a royal palace in 1333. The Alhambra's Islamic palaces were built for the last Muslim emirs (princes) in Spain and its court of the Nasrid dynasty. Some portions were also used by Christian rulers after the Reconquista. After falling into disrepair for centuries, the Alhambra was "rediscovered" in the 19th century and is now one of Spain's major tourist attractions, exhibiting the country's most significant and well known Arab-Islamic architecture, together with 16th-century Christian buildings and gardens. If you have never been, don't worry, I took a few photos for you ;)
