Grasslands National Park - Medicine Hat, Canada

Medicine Hat, Canada

Next morning I followed the Ecotour into the west section of Grasslands National Park. Loved it there. Miles and acres of open space, a Prairie Dog town, buffalo, a sighting of an endangered Burrowing Owl, walks and hikes to various points of interest, Frenchman River, coulees and Larson’s homestead, little song birds flitting through the grasses, amazing clouds, light wind and not too hot, lots of photos and Red Chairs! It’s a fun thing Canada's National Parks is doing. Placing red chairs here and there, just to sit and enjoy the view or ambiance of a place. I may need to revisit a lot of parks to find more of these red chairs.

I was very tempted to spend the night in the campground, but it was still early afternoon by the time I was done so I returned to Val Marie. And then, just to spoil my day, some guy driving way too fast, threw rocks in my window and caused a small chip. Damn! Anyway, gassed up in Cadillac, good thing as I didn’t see another gas station for miles, and then made my way to Medicine Hat. I was sure I’d find a nice RV park or campground, but again, I got fed up with trying to track one down so I spent another night at Walmart.
