History on the water - Melaka, Malaysia
Melaka, Malaysia
As time is so limited and in such a short time anyway You can just see towers, we decided to head south to Melaka, port city with historical background and sure the major purpose, collect another Hardrock café magnet J. Took a train to central bus station TBS – it is connected to train station so easy to reach. Train system is so good, easy to understand and fast! Central bus station is new, modern and we got a ticket for just 10MR one way with Delima express. Good bus and 1-45h to get to Melaka. Bus stops at Melaka central bus station, and You have to take a taxi to center, some 15min and cost 20MR, that seemed to me expensive.
One of activities in to do list is to take a river cruise – as there is historical district on banks of channel and low rise historical houses, it is really worth for 15 MR to and back/45 min. Sure, if you have time, walking could be better. After that we head to Hardrock café for lunch and have a walk around. Then take a taxi to central bus station. Bus station is like a huge like “ made in China” market – any brand clothes “ copy from the copy” J, food stalls. We couldn’t find normal express bus stands to buy tickets for our backward route and after questioning any bus stand, all tickets for upcoming bus was sold out. At last found one stand selling tickets and bought for the same 10MR. Bus was quite old and soon we discover that this is not an express, taking route through villages not motorway. After 40min drive bus broke down…but luckily we did not have to think how to get back, as in 20min another bus comes to replace. So we are back in TBS station after long 3h drive J. So better buy two way ticket in TBS.
