We enjoy included breakfast and set out to the busy and noisy San Jose. We are feeling like someone's been beating us on a head for hours but never mind - we are here and the sun is shining! Avenue dos is packed and there is a concert on every corner attempting to collect money for charity and every couple of steps there is a lady screaming her lungs out trying to sell something brought in from China. Huge fresh flower stalls are also selling Christmas hats and the central market is packed with great value souvenirs and delicious food. Overall, pretty cool and there is a beautiful National Theatre as well as Pre-Columbian Gold Museum.
After a good stroll and an hour session of sun and music, we decide to settle in a café with a view of the bustling street to have a refreshing drink and enjoy some people watching. Then it's time to leave our central hotel and move to another one in a cleaner and quieter area where our pre-booked adventure awaits.
We get upgraded to the executive suit (naturally), enjoy some beers by the swimming pool and then meet our tour leader and group in the evening followed by dinner and drinks. But of course that's not enough for us and we are making our way to Mundo Loco. Not going to scare us with 7am start next morning! It felt though as if Mundo Loco wasn't expecting us. Everyone was a little confused and took us through the main bar, the live music room, another bar, and then through the garden to the last table by the shed. Other than that, the place was great, the bands were awesome and the beer was cheap! We stayed there until the last drops of energy evaporated.
I suddenly remember that we signed up for grade 4 white water rafting next morning. What the hell was I thinking?!
