New York Aquarium Brooklyn
Friday 27th September 2013: Bit of a late start this morning - catching yellow Q train to the New York Aquarium which is at the bottom of Brooklyn across the Hudson River - we were on a local train which stopped at all stations, so it took us an hour and half by the time we had coffee and got there. The Aquarium was established in 1896 and was seriously damaged by Hurricane Sandy last year and is still being repaired, but we were very happy with what we saw.
Leaving the Aquarium we walked along some of the 6 mile boardwalk which runs along the beach and past Coney Island amusement park - this looks very impressive, although not open on a Friday afternoon.
