Pazin Chasm

We started on a long long trip to plitvice so we stopped off at Pazin Chasm and went on a walk through the chasm. We had walked from one side to the other and when we reached the top mum and dad had a coffee and then we went zip-lining! I was a bit nervous at first but my fear ran away quickly. The gear weighed about 5 kg. I got hooked up and soon I was soaring across the vast chasm. I was having so much fun and forgot about every one else in the world (that means you Kai)!

And soon we were back in the car and on the road. It was about 2 hours till we reached our destination. When we arrived at Bramado Apartments we found lollies on our beds!!! Mum Lyla and I went for a walk in the woods and found the best plums in the world (not that I like them)!

The next day we headed to Plitvice Lakes. Plitvice Lakes is a multi-levelled lake, with a multitude of waterfalls cascading from lake to the next and at the bottom is an amazing waterfall! We climbed all the way to the top lake and had some biscuits(this is where my new blog picture came from) and took a bus that transports people from one end of the park to the other. We then walked around the bottom lakes and caught a cute ferry across to our starting point. The air was so fresh and the water clear with lots of huge fish. This place was amazing and beautiful.

We visited a town called Slunj on the Sunday. It was an old fortification town that had been occupied by many different cultures including Turks, Austrians and the French. A hilltop town with streams and waterfalls we wandered around despite the rain and ate lunch in a cute little pub- great food!

The highlight of the next days walk around the top of Plitvice at the look out areas was discovering 2 fire salamanders. Dad wanted to try and pick one up but luckily Mum stopped him. Did you know that fire salamanders have poison glands in their skin, and can release a neurotoxin that can cause convulsions and possibly death- oh dear.

When we left the apartment the owner, a very nice fellow, gave us some honey from the region, a fridge magnet souvenir and soap- how nice ;)

Što ima novog? (What's new?)
